Perodua vehicle registration for August 2022 rose by nearly 42% to 26,039 units compared with 18,346 vehicles in July 2022 as automotive component supply improved. August was the best month in terms of production so far this year with 28,036 units produced and increased in deliveries for all models with the Bezza leading the pack with 6,808 units, followed by the Myvi and Axia at 6,252 units and 4,857 units respectively
“We are currently trying to build on this improvement to ensure speedier delivery to our customers,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.
“On the newly launched Alza, we received bookings of 51,000 units so far, with 7,682 units registered in July and August,” Dato’ Sri Zainal said. The All-New Perodua Alza was launched on 20th July 2022.
On a year-to-date basis, Perodua saw an increase of 63.7% to 171,728 vehicles registered in the first eight months of this year compared with 104,933 units registered in the same period last year.
However, the year-to-date comparison is distorted as the country underwent a lockdown between 1 June 2021 to 15 August 2021 and during that time all non-essential operations were suspended.
“In terms of registration by model between January and August this year, the Perodua Myvi is still our best-seller at 48,658 units, followed by the Bezza with 39,642 units, and Axia 37,013 units,” Dato’ Sri Zainal said.
